I've had the covers not only stick together when folded, but also they seem to tear around the burner opening. Here's what I've done and seems to work. I've carefully applied duct tape around the edges on the outside only. Don't want to get the taste of smoked duct tape on stuff. This seems to work fine and as long as the tape is only on the outside---no problem. Also when the cover is taken off and cooled, spray a non-stick oil--like pam on the inside. Then just fold up and it will not be glued together when unfolded. The best price I've found on these things is 7 bucks--US. Before using the above, I'd get maybe 5 uses if really careful. Now I can get at least twice that. Hope this helps. Terry

thanks for the info! I had the same idea about the spray but my thoughts were before it was used to spray it. Leave it open while it dries and then wipe out the inside and respray before folding it up. Thanks again for the info.

Classic, how does the propane do on a long smoke like brisket? How many bottles would it take? Can you just hook the hose up to a larger tank like you get at the exchanges?

Using the larger bottles with the right adapter isn't a problem.
I have not done a long smoke on the PBS.
FLBR has done several and I know he will answer your questions.
If you are interested in one Yard and pool has one for $69.
That is a steal.

I purchased an adapter at a camping/RV store.
I ran a BPS for 40 hours straight on a 25lb bottle.

FLBR - how often did you have to refill that small bowl on the long cooks?

To be honest, I don't remember! There was a lot of other activity going on as well. Once the smoke was done, it didn't require a lot of fiddling, other than trying to build the shelter!

Duct tape may not be such a good idea. I had a bisquette ignite and the duct tape caught fire and melted on the smoker assembly and made a mess. True, the covers can burn, but if they burn, they burn without dripping anything.

I have been using the same cover for 9 smokes. Trick is to take the cover off, keep open and lay it out for 3 hours. This lets all the condensation and stickiness relieve itself from the inside of the cover.
