Title: BDS Digital 6 rack and tempature issues
Post by: BBQdDude on September 05, 2009, 01:10:24 PM
Hi,

Fired up the new smoker to season. I have a Maverick temp with two probes that I hung inside without touching any metal. I set the oven temp to 150 as it said and put in 5 pucks. Everything works but the temperature readout on the Bradley says it is at 175. So I bumped down the oven temp to 130. After an hour I came back and the same thing. The Maverick confirmed the same. I read the manual begining to end prior to using.

Any thoughts???

Thank you,

Brian

BBQDude,
Welcome to the forum.  Trust your Maverick.  Much more accurate than your BDS.  Now, it should be said that when you have meat in the tower, as the IT of the meat rises the Maverick and the BDS temp will get closer and closer.

Either way, don't sweat it and have fun.

Thank you for the shout out and words of advise!!! That's pretty much what I thought. I know each of my past smokers varies. Just wanted to make sure the electronics of the  BDS were OK LOL.

Take care,

Brian
