Title: Finishing a Turkey in Oven
Post by: psuman316 on November 24, 2009, 09:02:58 AM
doing my first turkey however, the wife bought an 18lb bird and was wondering how you guys finish the turkeys in the oven.  Do you just place in a pan with some liquid and cover with foil? or what do you do? Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum Psuman, you are going to love this place. I would use a tinfoil turkey pan for the trip to the oven. As long as you take the foil of near the end to crisp up the skin you should be fine. Just make sure you get about 160f and then  pull it out, put the foil back on an rest it for 10 to 15 mins and you should get between 165f and 170f and it should be good to go.
