Title: Doing a ham today
Post by: _Bear_ on December 04, 2009, 10:14:07 AM
I am going to try something simple today. Doing a Ham I bought at co-op. It is an already smoked/cooked ham bone in and skinned , so my plan is to cover it in mustard and then use a rub, then put it in the smoker for about 4 hrs @ 220*, nice and simple. We have a blizzard warning out so this gives me something to do LOL. Any words of advice befor I toss it in??

You guys are so mean. I had hotdogs for dinner and you put that pic up......so cruel. That is a thing of beauty! How much smoke did you put to it or did you?

Thanks!! Did you smoke the hotdogs LOL  ;D. Sorry cheap shot  :D

I put mesquite to it for 3 hrs @ 220*, then 1.5 hrs no smoke but still 220*

No smoke for the hotdogs. It is enough to just gag them down never mind put any effort into preparing them. Boil, bun, ketchup, relish, mustard choke choke choke, done. Ok I guess I''l plan the next meal myself.

The worst thing is it was my idea. I had a dream last night that had something to do with hotdogs and when I was at the store today I figured it was a good idea. WRONG. Anything would help a hotdog.

Beautiful ham Bear!

Q, next time try boiling the hot dogs in liquid crab boil if you have access to it.  Really flavors them up.

Gees that sounds good. I never even thought of flavouring the liquid. A guy could put all kinds of flavours to them that way. Thanks KY, I guess having had plain old boiled dogs all these years it just became old hat and one never really gives it much thought. Next time its flavourdogs for sure.
