Title: Bradley at the Deer Camp
Post by: classicrockgriller on January 03, 2010, 09:01:51 PM
Finally got the Bradley up to the camp for a New Years Day feast.

I started these Briskets last year and it took me into the New Year to finish them.

I left the puck tube, but they just played follow the leader.

Two brisket with Salt, Pepper, and Jan's Rub

The Briskets were great and wasn't a piece left. Besides the brisket we had:

Homemade mash taters

15 inch skilet of gravy

Balckeyed Peas and Cornbread

We have a good time and we always eat good.

I cooked the Brisket and the rest was done by others in camp.

After the Brisket, I gave Gabi a cpl hrs rest and someone brought a butt I smoked for them.

There is always a great fire after supper and plenty of story telling.

1st mistake I made this year and I am sure it won't be the last.

I had the 1 in rail and the 3/4 in rails at home and I will save them for future screw-ups.

Will have to buy the 1/2 rails. Actually wanted the pre-mades and did it on a whim one night.

No, but I have seen sufficiently overserved (or desperate) individuals troll for pigs under neon.  I, of course, have never done such a thing, but I did see it happen.  Not pretty.

Oh and I am sure you haven't. ;D  I would never admit to it either or bring up the subject.

For some reason, a grren lite doesn't bother Hogs when they feed at nite. And that is enough lite to
be able to see them in your scope.

You usually try to have two ppl in a stand when you do this to double you chances of gettin a pig.

Both people after sippin adult beverages trying to shoot on a count of 1, 2, 3.

Usually doesn't work but who cares!

You can come hunt with me anytime.

I hunt hogs till March/April.

If you want to hunt during Nov/Dec rifle season bring your butt on.

We'll find a way to get the deer back to Canada or we will eat it before you leave.

I saw 115 deer this season (I have to keep a log)

My cousin and I have been planing a hog hunt down there in Texas for 4 years now.

We never seem to have the time to do anything about it.

But we do have time to drink a cold one and talk about it! ;D

I'm thinking it's about a 1 day drive from here.

Hey OU....we found a place for $300 a person (week-end hunt) they put you up for 2 days with a couple of meals and your tag. You hunt on their land and they even cut and freeze that baby for the ride home.

We have two weeks of Muzzle Load.

During that time the state will have compliled enough Data to determine wether to allow any more Deer to be harvested.

If no more special hunts, then it's Hogs under green Lites.
