Title: Pulled Pork for lunch.
Post by: Phone Guy on May 10, 2005, 04:59:22 PM
I smoked my first pulled pork on Friday. It came out great! I will be eating pulled pork with BBQ sauce for lunch today. I made a sauce with a recipe I found on this site. I was looking for a BBQ sauce recipe that uses sauted onions in it. I haven't found it in the S&S book but maybe someone else knows of one.

The two off the top of my head from S&S are the Onion-Bourbon sauce and the Texas Ranch Style sauce.  I think the names on both of those are wrong, but you should be able to find them.  Both are good, although when I made the Ranch one, I eliminated the cumin so it didn't have such a SW style flavor.  I also reduced the peppers from 3 to 1 each as I don't like my Que as spicy as a lot of other things I eat.

PhoneGuy-

A possible 2 sources.  John Willingham has some onion based sauces as does the book Championship BBQ by Paul Kirk. Kirk has a bunch of books out, much better than the general bbq books out there.
