I'll apologize in advance to my Canadian friends for any damage my family may cause to your country :-)
This trip was born of a story I was telling my kids about when I was a kid (I think about 14) and my Dad asked me if I wanted to go fishing. I said sure. Unbeknownst to me, my Mom had packed all my stuff. We got in the car (in south Florida) and drove to Gander, Newfoundland to go fishing. (the fishing was great) Along the way we overnighted in New Brunswick along the Bay of Fundy. When we checked in, to a motel along the bay, everything looked "normal". The next morning, the water was, well, GONE. 65ft tide change. wow. boats sitting on the mud.
So I am recalling this trip to my kids, and they all say "we want to go there!" So be it. started planning.
We leave the end of next week. Florida to St Martins, NB, then back to Myrtle Beach SC for a week.
That is crazy Kewl!
What a drive .
I hate to drive to town.
Day 1 (after work) FL to SC
Day 2 SC to Cockeysville, MD
Day 3 MD to Albany, NY
Day 4 Albany,NY to New Brunswick stop in NH pickup rental car.

Day 2 SC to Cockeysville, MD
Cockeysville, MD -- Corner Stable Restaurant - NOT the best ribs in Baltimore (at least I'm sure there must be better ones, cuz the ones there are not good)
65 tide change sounds cool
Wow, that's one heck of a tide change - make sure to put the plug back in the drain.
Yup up here in Canada we got the largest tides in the world, one up on Texas for being big ;D

I'll have to watch that one on Sunday - on dial up now. Bet it's good.
Couple of half-way decent crab shacks on York Road (Cockeysville area) but no BBQ I'd eat again. You really should try to stop for crabcakes at G&M in Linthicum (near BWI) or, if you're going into the city, Faidley's at Lexington Market.

I'm going to make it to G&M next trip down, end of August.

We leave on this trip next Friday.
Holy crap! The tides there remind me of the chocolate milk intake my son does every day.
If you dropped something in the water you can pick it up later. ::)
My brother in law in Nova Scotia is involved in trying to harness those Bay of Fundy tides to produce electricity. I've watched them from the Nova Scotia side of the Bay--they are something to see!
T2
That's a LOT of driving!!!
Hope you have good LUMBAR SUPPORT!
Are you stopping in Charleston by any chance? --- It's something to see. No place on earth is quite like it.

Homemade bike rack?
It's called a Draftmaster, made in the USA by ATOC. http://www.atoc.com/
You better get before the storm runs in.
I've gotta work tomorrow. I was going to mount the bikes tomorrow morning, but I decided that they are going to get wet anyway, might was well do it today. good thing, since we have a slightly different configuration and I had to take it apart and reposition it all around different.
That's a pretty cool rack.
Now that the bikes are in place...
Where do the SMOKERS go?
The BPS is safely stowed. And I can connect it to the RV Propane tank. That will run the BPS for about a month.
Pork butt has been requested by family when we get to Myrtle beach.
Have wheels will travel. Have a safe and fun trip!
Thanks.
We're off.
I'm not sure what our connectivity will be, so I'll check in when I can.
Have a whole bunch of FUN, but be a whole bunch of SAFE.
Hope ya'll have a great trip!
Great White Northbound and Down!
Are we sure Chevy Chase isn't behind the wheel? :D
We'll see if he has a Red Ferrari pass him or he jumps into a cold pool without his skivvies!
Have a lot of fun FLBR and stay safe!
Now see, that's how you guys are. I was thinking more like "Smokey and the Bandit" and the late great Jerry Reed is behind the wheel. "Northbound and down. Loaded up and trucking. We're gonna do what they say can't be done." Yes, origninally the lyric is Eastbound but Randy's going Northbound.
All the best, be safe, and have great fun with your family.

FLB.. Have fun and send pics!
Ya'll need to see Randy's first photo on Facebook of the great Northern adventure. Apparently he's already knocked one of his kids out!
Sorry FLBR, couldn't resist. That pic is a classic! :D Actually, the young man is taking a bit of a nap.
Have fun FLBR and family. Have to admit in my head I keep hearing "Holiday Road".
For some reason my most enduring memory of the various road trips I went on with my parents was the classic, "Don't make me stop this car!" In this day of RVs and the like, I guess that's been replaced with "Go to your room" (or, in this case, "Y'all go to your room, eh").

What were you pulling in the trailer behind the camper?
Carolina? I wonder how many gallons of CT he's packing into that rig.

The Bicycles that
were on the bike rack before it began to disintegrate.
About 100 miles into the second day, I noticed that the bikes were not in the same position on the rear-view camera.
Upon inspection we found that the receiver portion of the bike rack was bent.

We weighed our options, and decided to try to find a u-haul trailer to put the bikes in. We did and got back on the road.
The whole ordeal ended up costing us about 2 hours. There were other complications that we discovered when we arrived at Debs...
