Took some wires of to check smoke generator need to know where 2nd blue wire goes. keeps getting E1 warning I got it going and it gave me a E-3 or 4.(can not find what that means. It was smoking but no heat) Smoking weekend turned to a grilling weekend. :o ::)

Q. What is an "E" message?
A. An "E" message is letting you know that there is something wrong with the advance system. It's the connection between the motor arm and the micro switch. Please open the generator, and take a look at that switch which is going to be a gray rectangle shaped switch; first make sure that it is connected, secondly makes sure nothing is blocking that switch and the arm. If the wires appear to be plugged in, disconnect and reconnect the connections to make sure they are secure. If this does not work contact Bradley Technical Support.
This was not a E or an E-1 (I get lots o these) it was E3 or E4 after I got it going. I check on it after an hour, smoking fine, but no oven heat and an E3 or E4 message.
Check both of the wires that go from the smoke generator to the tower. Unplug and plug back in several times to make sure you have a good connection. The power jumper in particular sometimes has to be very firmly plugged in.
Is the element getting hot (glowing red?)
It started on but when I went to check it only smoker was working.
Plug to smoker box direct to electricity for just a short period to see if the element will glow red.
Take the cord that plugs the smoke gen to electricity and plug that into the back of cabinet.
Don't run off and leave it, just long enough to see if element is working.
Yes it is but it takes a little while.
Then the problem is in the smoke gen.
Are you by any chance plug into an extention cord?
I was to get outside a # 12 gauge
Did you every figure out the correct wiring?
Hello Dave
I have never heard of the smoke generators giving a E-3 or E-4 error
If you are getting a E-1 error you might have a bad connection to the temp sensor the connection is located in the back of the smoke tower remove the back of the smoker
and check the connection.
Here is a picture of the wiring inside the generator so you can put the blue wire back on.

Brian
Thats what I needed. I will check tower. Thank you
Now all I get is G1
G-1?
WOW!
Sorry E-1
Sorry E-1
Q. Why does my Digital Bradley Smoker starts OK then beeps and displays an E1 error on the screen?
A. The E1 error is usually an issue with the TC wire (small wire between generator and tower). If you unplug and re-plug it a couple of times or even unplug and reverse it, it will usually help. I found that the problem only happened a couple of times. Once I had unplugged and re-plugged a couple of times it seemed to resolve it. It was almost like it had some rough cast plastic in the pin part of the connector or something.
Additional Information from the Bradley website:
An "E1" message is something to do with the sensor cable. The sensor cable is the short skinny cable that runs from the generator to the tower. Please make sure that it's connected, secondly unplug it and switch the ends around, so plug "A" side into "B" and the "B" side into "A" sometime that makes a better connection. Also make sure that is nothing blocking that connection ie: loose chips, dust (using a piece of steel wool or super fine sandpaper to clean the ends of your sensor cable works well).
Also; while the generator is on and the "E1" error is displayed and beeping, check the connection by wiggling one side of the connection up and down and left to right, and then the other side. If the "E1" message temporally goes away while you were wiggling one side, you need a new sensor connector.
Hello Dave
If what CRG posted doesnt help then try this
If you are getting a E-1 error you might have a bad connection to the temp sensor the connection is located in the back of the smoke tower remove the back of the smoker
and check the connection.

Dave
Galesburg? Where you at in IL??
I live in East Peoria and Business in Morton
Just checked and E-1 I will have bad dreams of E-1 Will call bradley on Wed. Thank you for all the help. I'm sure we will get it ironed out. I just hate it when it is brand new.
Ask to speak to Bryan, he is top notch and knows his Bradleys.
Got the parts today, and went home to get smoker. Changed wire first, still E-1 next changed smoke gen sensor still E-1. Then changed both in smoker. And ......E-1 I was a shop teacher for 14 years and a rental store owner for 23 years, I have 850 pieces o equipment to keep going. Now I have 851, maybe it needs a BFH to fix it. I bought for enjoyment,so far not much enjoyment. I am only 35 miles from Galesburg, IL where it was shipped.
Dave
I would be sitting on their door step in the morning.
Sorry to hear that wasn't the "fix".
Brian did good and sent the parts, now I am past that, let see what happens next or someone could buy this smoker for shipping so I don't have to look at it.
Hi Dave
Sorry to hear you are still getting a E-1 error.
Did they send you a new temp sensor?
These are the only parts that will give you a E-1 error

Let me know if you can get your smoker to our Galesburg Office and I will have one of our guys there fix it for you.
Send me a e-mail @ brian at bradleysmoker.com before you send it Dave then I can make sure someone will be there to
fix it while you wait for it.
Brian.
I changed all four that they sent, and no change.
;D I sent it to Galesburg this morning they replaced parts and it did not work. They gave me a new smoke generator, and that worked. As soon as it gets to town I will start smoking. Thank you all for the help. Special thanks to Sonny and Brian.

Glad you got things going! GL on your smokes. Looking forward to some great pics.
Can anyone help me , I live in the Cayman Islands and have no dealer to seek help from.
My smoker displays 4:00(on the smoker timer) and the letters E1 appear (in the Temp Setting)....I have tried wiggling the sensor cable and reversing it, but am unable to make it work.
This is a brand new digital smoker and I'm seriously hacked off....has anyone got any idea what's going wrong?
Sounds like you have either a loose or not connected wire on one end of the sensor cable.
Either in the smoke generator or the sensor inside the cabinet. Either one are an easy fix.
Check this out.
