Title: Flavored bacon

Has anyone ever tried to make any kind of flavored bacon?  I tried to make some jalapeno bacon by dicing up some peppers and adding them to the bag while the bacon cured but none of the flavor came through.  Has anyone done this and had any luck?

Flavors that are water soluble will work, since curing is an osmosis process.

Pepper flavors (the "heat" in particular) are not water soluble, they are oil soluble.

You might try making a paste of the peppers and injecting.
