I'm faking injury at .5 miles. You da man!!!
Please FLBR,
I know I'm slow and I'm sure I'm not alone and I was about to post is there a way to help? Do you have a page like that Randy guy in the link above? And then after reading more of the post I had a BFO (Blinding Flash of the Obvious)! You are that Randy guy! I didn't know! LOL
Maybe you could add "Randy" right after "Thanks in advance" for anyone else as mentally challenged as myself! Maybe I'm alone? But now that I got it I'm all in! ;D
Good Luck again!

Way to go Randy. So if October was Breast cancer month what is November. I'd give my left nut for testicular cancer research.........OK maybe I should rephrase that.
Very nice!
You'll have to let us know your training progress...
(not just anyone can jump on a bike and go SEVENTY miles)

44:17 on the way home today, HR still too high (145+) ... hit a couple of lights..
personal best (in better shape) is 33:30 for that same run - that's flying.
On the bent-rider?
Nice cause Randy and Good Luck!!

RAGBRAI is definitely on my "list"
72 miles so far this week.. cardio is slowly getting there.
Can't believe I missed this ..
Great work FLBR, and for a good cause too. Keep it up !
If I tried 70 miles on a bicycle this week I'd need an orthopedic surgeon, a neurosurgeon, and about three PT's (physical terrorists).

Hopefully all I'll need when I'm done is a massage therapist and a bartender!
Can I get you some peanuts Sir?

Depends on what she looks like whether or not I would need the massage therapist but the bartender would be a must!!
You're assuming that it's a "she". ;)
Great going and proud of you FLBR. I can hardly walk up to my mailbox. :-X
Randy - way to go. Served 320 women last night at a Cancer fundraiser at Church. That was way more easier than 70 miles. Decades (and 70 pounds) ago used to do 100 milers for charity on my Peugeot - but that was also in flat Texas farm country!
Way to go FLBR!
Thats awesome Randy! Way to go!
Way to go, wish I was in that good of shape to try.
Good luck and "May the Char be with you"
Thanks!

96 miles for the week. HR is starting to drop a little, from the 150's to the 140's
Bump....
Given my schedule over the next few days, today's ride was probably the last one before the big one on Sunday = 48 miles this week.
avg HR is getting lower, speeds are up - hit 24mph today for a little while - it's all good.
As of 5:56 CST on 11-17-2010 our smoking friend (FLBentRider) has raised $635 dollars of a goal of $750 and he only has 2 full days before the Challenge begins on 11-20-2010. This is a reachable goal for the great cause to "Increase Cancer Awareness" something that has personally touched almost every one of us.
The finish line is within sight!

As of 5:31 CST 11-19-2010 Randy has surpassed his goal of $750 with a sponsored amount of $771. Hip, Hip Hooray!
So Randy go ride safe knowing your big heart and safety are in our thoughts and prayers!
Good Luck!

Bike all loaded up, heading downtown first thing in the morning.
I'll probably post pictures and updates on FB during the day, I might get to update this thread tomorrow evening.
Thanks for all your support.
Randy, be careful and keep safe. Good luck and drink lots of fluids. No cramps!
