Title: Pecan or Cherry or... for Apple Brined Turkey
Post by: rickkellogg on November 25, 2010, 05:02:28 AM
Brined my turkey last night and was going to applewood smoke it, but I'm out of apple.  I have almost every other flavor but haven't experimented much with the different flavors - any suggestions?  What's in the "specialblend"?  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I've done cherry with great results.

Special blend? your guess is as good as mine.

I usually do a combo of Hickory and Apple, but since your out of Apple I'm sure Pecan would leave a nice touch.

Thanks!  I went with cherry and it's in the smoker now!
