I'm doing more indoor cooking due to the weather here. This was pretty simple (I like that) and good.
I browned up about 1.25 pounds of 80/20 ground beef in a cast iron pan. Cooked up half a box of elbow mac al dente - more than I needed but it makes a good salad.
I deglazed the beef pan with a couple ounces of Cabernet Sauvignon. I added some corn starch to some left over red pasta sauce and threw that in. There wasn't enough sauce so I added some V8.
The secret ingredient was Penzys Arizona Dreaming powder. A lot of flavor with little or no salt.
Put the mac in with the beef and cooked about another 15 minutes. Served topped with shredded cheddar and a green salad. Not bad.

Nice!
Now there are 2 posts this week with Penzey's spice mixes I need to try.
Really nice, Arnie!
You had me scared for a moment with the thread title. :o :D
Nice Arnie. That Arizona dreaming is good, I picked some up last time I was at Penzeys.
Very, very nice!
Sounds and looks gooooood, bont know bout that green stuff though. ;D
I hate hambuger helper, but I love tuna helper. That being said you should never use that dish and hamburger helper in the same name. That looks great! Where do you get the Penzy's?

On line. They have a couple of 'local' stores around here. But, between the time and gas, the shipping is cheaper.

They have a bunch of great spices, a lot of them salt-free. It's a nice change from most spices where the first ingredient is salt.

You got that right brother.
I get all my spices from Penzeys, got a store not to far from work.
Try Penzeys 'Northwoods Fire' seasoning. I'm always buying that stuff. :)
I'll give that one a try pens.
I'm just getting an order together. #2 daughter said she'd like a couple of things when I order. I got an email from her with 10 items. Kids. :-\
