Title: frozen or fresh pork butts

 I was just at one of the local butcher shops and the lady told me that during the month of February they are having a sale on pork butts.buy one get one free. works out to about $1.50lb. just wondering if I should freeze a couple and I could smoke them later for pulled pork.thanks for the help.

They freeze just fine.

Before or after smoking.

That is a heck of a deal. I have had frozen butts for over 9 months and they still come out fine when smoking.

I was stocking up on butts all Summer when they were 99 cents/lb.   Had 80+ pounds of them in a friend's freezer.

I would say ask CRG but I don't think he has much experience at buying butts in bulk :D
