Title: Sassy Smoked Meatloaf
Post by: muebe on March 15, 2011, 11:06:33 AM
Smoker Pete's meatloaf looked so good that I smoked one for lunch. The meatloaf was a mix of 60% extra lean ground beef and 40% ground Turkey. I set the Auber to 250F. I applied smoke in the Bradley for 2 hours using Jim Beam Oak Barrel Pucks. I took it to a IT of 160F. It was topped with Pinch of Sizzle Sweet and Sassy Finishing Sauce. That sauce was meant for meatloaf ;)

Lookin gooood.

I like to make meat loaf with BBQ sauce rather than ketchup.

Nothing like a big ole meatloaf sammie for breakfest, with lots of hot sauce.  ;D

Thanks for the nice comments guys ;D

My wife has made this meatloaf in the oven before and it does not turn out well because of using ultra lean ground beef and ground turkey...it comes out way too dry. But slow smoking it in the Bradley makes for a very moist and healthy meatloaf. My wife is watching her calories and wants to eat better so I have to suffer....I mean enjoy the healthier life style. Where I did draw the line is when she recently brought home turkey bacon :o Two words that do not go together :D
