This is being offered half off right now with free shipping. This a good deal? Should I be looking @ another model? Let me know what you guys think...

wow...72 views and no one has an opinion?  ???

In my limited experience with the 'food saver' products (I had one of their cheaper models years ago), the biggest expense with these is the cost of the bags (material). What is peculiar is there arent a whole lot of reviews online with regards to Pro III Plus—is it because its the most costly? Dunno. Most of the reviews have been favorable. At 50%, it seems to be a very good deal. Best price I've seen otherwise is over $200.

I'm debating acquiring one as well.

This is a new model and a design back to the old style units. Being a new model means that there are very few people who have experience with it. Looks like they are going back to the old design that was more popular than the newer upright models. I have a newer upright model and like mine. The bags can be a little pricey but if you buy the rolls in bulk you can save quite a bit of money. Some people have trouble using the newer models because the system is automatic. You just need to slide the vacuum package into the unit and then it senses the bag and automatically starts the vacuum/seal process. This automated process does waste more bag material than the older manually operated models. Since it is a new model you might want to wait until the reviews are in....

I own one actually. The only problem that i see other than the price (paid 300$), is when you want to bag 20 lbs of cheese, you need to give it a break after each 5 bags or it won't seal correctly. Other than that, it is working OK specially if you can have it at half price.

I have a Foodsaver VAC 300. Had it for to many years to count. Works perfectly to this day. It looks very much like the new one for half off. My only complaint would be the design. Seems to me with a better front loading design you would not waist as much of the bag at the top end to seal it up. Meaning you need to leave a good size over hang to make sealing &Vac easy. If you don't its a pain in the a** to get it to vac & seal.

I missed out on that deal :/...but ordered a V850 Vacuum Sealing System instead. Not as robust as the first post but only $65 shipped for the whole unit! We shall see how long it lasts!

I have the upright countertop model and would not purchase another upright model.  Its a pain in the a** sometimes to insert the bag into the sealing slot.  The flip top models work much better and are way faster to use.
