Title: Best sauce for ribs when using Butt Rub on the ribs
Post by: bozer on May 26, 2011, 02:11:41 PM
I have a big bottle of Bad Byron's Butt Rub that I'm thinking of using for ribs. Anyone got any idea what is a good sauce to use in combination with that?  kind of want something not too hot but sweet.

We use several, but I think Sweet Baby Ray's is our goto rib sauce...

I like a combination of Sweet Baby Ray's and Bulls Eye (both original) along with a ½ can of Dr. Pepper (for a little kick if you have a Zaxby's nearby pickup 4-8ozs of sweet and spicy sauce) and bring both BBQ's sauces and DR. Pepper just to a bubble in a sauce pan and turn down to a simmer and add the Zaxby's sauce to taste. Simmer, stir and taste until you have it the way you like it!
Note: Use the Dr. Pepper to help clean out the empty BBQ sauce bottles and pour your new sauce back into the bottles for use.

I've tested this sauce and found it to be a winner on chicken also, but don't tell anyone!  ;)
