Title: Put my latest rib rub in my spice grinder and made it powder
Post by: CoreyMac on August 26, 2011, 08:08:39 AM
I thought I would try something different with my latest set of baby backs. Once I was finished building my rub and mixing it I put it in my spice grinder and powdered it. Wow did it ever stick to the ribs well, it made my hands red (paprika) but I was hoping it will go through the meat better. I could be wrong but gonna smoke them up on Saturday.

Anybody ever try this? How were the results of was there no real difference? Guess I will find out myself on Saturday but just askin  ;D

I grind my rub and add it to butter when I'm injecting stuff like turkey or a loin but never applied the ground rub to the surfice of the meat.

Just sayin.  ;D

I would think the flavors will absorb into the meat faster though.
