I'm heading to a buddies superbowl party and I was asked to smoke two butts. :) ;) No Problem, I say! 8) I headed to Sam's Club and picked up two butts that weighed 17 lbs. I decided to do a Raspberry Bourbon Butt and a Carolina Treet Injected Butt.

I just put two butts in the MAK about an hour ago. Molasses is the glue. Salt Lick is the Rub. Trimmed the fat cap off prior to applying the molasses and SL.

Nice, I wanted to try molasses but I didnt make it to the store.

OldHickory - Not a taste test! I have done both of these butts a few times. When I was asked to smoke 2 butts for the party I wanted to do 2 different flavored butts. I went with the sweet heat butt (bourbon) and the salty/tangy butt. (Carolina Treet)
The butts I have in the MAK hit "doneness" at the 18 hour mark. MAK ran consistently through the night at 220 degrees. They are still in the MAK staying warm prior to the FTC period as they finished earlier than I anticipated.
Yeah yeah yeah, I know. "No pics, didn't happen". Look at Snelly's pics. Mine look pretty much the same. :)

Butts are @ 187 and 181. Everything is going according to plan. I had the smoker set @ 195 for the nite. Bumped up to 220 this morning.

The only thing I didnt like about the raspberry was the seeds. Jammed up my injector a few times, even after I put the injection in the food processor.
