Title: Attention NorCal Jerky makers
Post by: fishrman on February 15, 2012, 07:30:46 PM
If you are like me, you like to use London Broil for making jerky as it is nice and lean and easy to prepare.  Right now Safeway is having a BOGO, that is Buy One Get One free, on their MaxPaks of London Broil.  Today I bought 47 lbs (stocking the freezer) for a total of $123, or about $2.61/lb.  Not bad at all.  If you prefer to buy the roast (bottom round) so that you can cut to your personal specifications, it is also a BOGO right now.  Both are $4.99/lb, so no real savings on the roast.  London Broil in the individual packs is selling for $2.99, so a good price there as well.  I bought some of both which is why my average price is a little higher.  I did find there was less waste on the individual packs, so you may want to stock up on those even though the apparent price is slightly higher.

Good smoking!
