Title: Should I season the smoker every time I use?
Post by: imbogus on June 21, 2012, 11:13:44 AM
Received my new smoker yesterday and I am new to this.  I have a question:
1.  I know I should preheat the smoker before use, but should I season it using smoke before each use?  The instruction booklet is not clear.  When I season my cook wear, it is done once.  Should I be adding smoke before I put the food in?

Hello and welcome,
Just season it once. It will get better and better as time goes on. Your gonna love it.

Once and done. The crustier it gets the better it smokes, just clean the racks, v-tray, water pan , bottom tray, seal around door.

Welcome to the boards, I add my smoke in & food at the same time typically.

Welcome aboard. You can put the food in and then start smoking. I will preheat, put the food in, the load up the pucks and advance them until I get the first one at the end of the slide

Welcome!  They've got you covered!  Season before the "first" food smoke.  You're good to go.
