Title: Mixed the Jan's
Post by: nasels on July 07, 2012, 08:32:03 PM
Stopped by Wally World and picked up some spices today and mixed a full batch of Jan's. I hope the cheaper spices don't weaken the flavor any. I used onion powder instead of onion salt and went with brown sugar.

I want to do some oven baked chicken- do I rub the chicken and place in fridge a while or just shake and bake?

My project after the chicken will be jerky with Jan's rub. Someone started a post on jerky with Jan's a while back but never saw an updated report? Maybe I just missed it.

I always brine poultry then a light pat with a paper towel, rub with Jan's and put it back in the fridge for an hour

Shake and bake is fine. Do it all the time. But I do like to brine poultry to and then rub and smoke.
