Title: How many pounds of Trout
Post by: bshep on April 17, 2013, 07:44:15 AM
I have a really small smoker and was looking at the Bradley original. Will it hold 15 lbs of trout fillets? I have a small setup at a farmers market so would need 10-15 lbs a week for a few months and don't want to spend too much.

Any help would be great

Thx

Hi bshep;

Welcome to the forum.

That is hard to answer. I've seen really thin fillets, and very thick ones. Obviously, the thicker they are, the less rack space they will use. The dimensions of the bottom of a Bradley rack are 13 1/4" x 10 3/8". Hopefully with those dimensions, you will be able to calculate how many fillets will fit on a rack. If your fillets are not too thick you can invert one rack on top of the other, so that a four rack Bradley can hold 8 racks. Bradley also makes a 6 rack smoker, but you are looking at additional costs.
