Title: Install in garage.

I have decided I will keep my smoker in my heated garage and install duct work to vent it outside. Anyone done this?

Awesome, thanks. Even in the steady temp of your garage, you still have a need for a PID?

The PID gives tighter temperature controls especially helpful for doing sausage.

My wife would kill me. Don't open the door!

PID is purely for dual elements / tighter temp control.  Make sure to take extra care to keep v tray clean, no meat touching smoker walls, and water in your bowl while smoking.

Opening the smoker door occasionally is my garage air freshener!
