Title: Smoked Oysters in Half Shell
Post by: waycoolcat on August 04, 2014, 06:13:43 AM
I made my first smoked oysters. I used the Bradley site recipe, which other members have posted in the past. To save anyone the search that wants it here it is:

24 oysters

3 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp dry mustard
1/2 tsp curry powder

Combine marinade, shuck oysters and marinade 30 min.
Place oysters back in bottom shell with a little of the marinade.
Preheat smoker to 220F, place oysters on smoker racks and using Apple bisquettes (I used Pacific Blend), smoke/cook for 40 to 60 minutes or until cooked.

We really liked them and I recommend trying them. I think the next time I smoke oysters I might try a recipe more subtle than this one which has mustard and curry.

Thanks Ragweed. No I won't be making it to the cookout. It sounds like fun though.
