Title: smoking Mullet
Post by: dave01 on September 17, 2014, 07:15:14 AM
Hi, I would like to smoke some mullet and was wondering if the brine would be about the same as is used for salmon. I have been able to find many recipes for doing the mullet. Thanks in advance for any suggestions

I've used Kummok's recipe on various varieties of fish and always gotten good results. It is a sticky at the top of the fish category in the recipe section. Can't speak to Mullet specifically though, never tried it.

I haven't tried it yet, but according to my Florida Sportsman cookbook, 2 C non-iodized salt: 2 C brown sugar: 1 qt water for 6 hours.

I used to catch mullet all the time, but not since I've had my Bradley.  :(
