Title: Using the A-MAZE-N pellet smoker with Auber PID
Post by: EthanFox on November 25, 2015, 08:35:50 AM
If using the Auber PID controller and the A-MAZE-N pellet smoker in the Bradley, is there any reason to have the smoke generating box attached?  Does anyone have experience smoking without the box?  Should the side port be covered to minimize draft into the smoker - with aluminum foil or something?   Thanks!

no you dont  need the  smoke generator attached,, though you may have to  much heat loss if it is not

Hi Ethan;

Welcome to the forum.

I would partially block it to prevent heat loss and to prevent possible back draft. When you block it you will still need vents.

I leave the S.G attached and use it as an additional heat source on my non-modified digital 4 rack. If I'm cold smoking I leave it attached just to block the hole. I realize that the smoke gen. may get gummed up by the tube,but I haven't used the S.G since I started using the A- Maz-N tube.

Hi,
I would like to get the AMZEN tray for hot smoking. Any issues with the heat generated by the element? I may need 250F.
Can you post any pics, please?
Thanks!
