Title: Prepping to smoke a turkey (1st one)
Post by: spangler2k3 on November 21, 2016, 05:10:59 AM
Good morning,

set out in the frig a 12# butterball "premium" turkey.

It says it has "Whole Young Turkey. Contains up to 8% of a solution of Water, Salt, Spices, and Natural Flavor. "

Does that mean i do not have to brine the turkey? or should i cut down on the brine time?

I will use a rub of some sort, and use some home made garlic butter for injection as the smoking process goes.

Just wondering what i'm getting myself into using my bradley digital

If anyone would like to help either post here or PM me, thank you

No need to brine your bird, it's already done.
