Title: New Element 725 vs 900 watt?
Post by: DasBoot on February 07, 2017, 06:34:11 AM
Ok, looking at putting a new element in to improve the temperature situation on my BDS.  I've been seeing people put in both 725 and 900 watt elements.  Are there reasons for one over the other?  Which would you recommend?

Also, does anybody have a step by step instruction on putting in an aftermarket element?

Thanks

There are a few threads with pics by others who have added a finned element.  If you do a search you can find them.  Here are links to two of them to help get you started.

750 Watt element swap - OEM bradley controller (http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=36220.0)

I added a second 500W element to mine about 4 years ago.  There's an instruction guide on doing that if you're interested.

Remember, if you increase the wattage you should use a PID controller.  The Bradley was designed and tested to only work with a 500W element.
