Title: Possible PID install
Post by: johnny00 on August 03, 2017, 06:53:49 PM
Hey Guys,

I am a new OBS owner and looking into the forum for a couple of days.
i will fiddle with this smoker in it's original state but reading everywhere about the mods that can be done.

it seems liike the Auberin PID is very popular on here but rather hard to get in Canada..

i found this combo on Amazon.ca
https://www.amazon.ca/Inkbird-Temperature-Controller-thermocouple-ITC-106VH/dp/B06XYMNZKG/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1501810784&sr=8-4&keywords=PID&th=1

i would like to know if it would be a good equivalent including the PID, SSR, thermocouple. This would be installed with a second element as well most likely :)

I have one very similar to this one and it works very well. It won't have the programmable features of the auberin and you'll need a box to mount it in but it should do the job nicely.
