Title: Moose roast in the bradley recipe help
Post by: RRL on March 15, 2018, 06:18:37 AM
Hey,

Wondering if anyone has any good successful recipes doing a moose roast in their BS.

I know moose meat is really lean and tends to dry out really easy.  Trying to see what kind of recipes  / brines someone may have tried!

Thanks in advance

Never cooked moose, but here is a basic deer recipe I used with great results

Per gal of water.......

1 gal good water
1 cup sea salt
1/2 cup olive oil
2 Tbs black pepper
3 Tbs minced onion
1/2 cup sugar
half a bottle 325 ml of CHEAP whiskey  (added the last 8 to 10 hrs of brining time)

I brine foor 24 hrs but the last 8 to 10 I add the whiskey in. I will no use the good stuff but I found the cheap works just as good. Seems to help with gamy taste

Hope this helps ya'
