Title: What does "E-1" mean? Can't get my new smoker to work
Post by: Glen/DonnaLee on April 14, 2018, 09:23:15 AM
Just got a new smoker for my birthday.
Hooked it up and I get "E-1" flashing. What does it mean?

This is from another post.

Usually the E1 error is associated to the sensor wire. It's the small wire that runs from the generator to the tower. Try unplugging it from both and reverse it, then plug it back in. Usually it's just a bad connection at the plug.

Try this

Reveresed it and no difference. Just keeps on beeping and flashing E-1. Also, the  timers show "4:00".

Hi;

Welcome to the forum.

As mentioned the E-1 error is a problem with your sensor wire or sensor. Check the wire for any breaks. Check the ends of the wires and make sure there is no plastic residue that may have been left during the manufacturing process. Check the sensor sockets on both the generator and cabinet for possible residue. Make sure the ends are securely seated in the socket. When new you need to insert and re-insert several time, before they make a proper connection.
