Title: DISPLAY NOT STAYING ON
Post by: FBOKR on December 24, 2018, 12:46:38 PM
Went to use our Bradley 6 rack digital smoker this morning and the display would not stay on.  I checked all the electrical connections and everything was good.  I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the power, the display would come on for about 1 second and turn off.  Did some online research and found this site.  After trying several more times to get the oven to turn on I got an E1 error.  The fix relating to cold worked.  I brought the control unit in the house and let it warm up for about 15 minutes and all is well.

Does anybody know if there is a fix for this issue.  We purchased the smoker new about three years ago and it worked great in much colder temperatures then it is being used in now.  The thermistor comment Any help would be great.

Hi FBOKR

Welcome to the forum.

Are you sure there wasn't a moisture issue that may have been shorting the system out.

It does seems to be a cold weather problem. Many members keep there generator (control unit) indoors in a heated area when it gets cold.

Hello FBOKR and welcome to the Forum. I've experienced the same issue a couple of years ago when I kept my Digital Generator out in the garage when it got cold out like it is this time of year. Now I keep the unit in the house and warm till I'm ready to preheat my smoker. Haven't had any issues since. Like Habanero Smoker said its probably condensation.

Thanks for the info.  It's a more serious problem.  The generator will not stay on even when it has been left in the house overnight.  I opened the back and there were no obvious signs of moisture, but that doesn't rule out condensation.  No matter, time to get a hold of Bradley.  Again thanks for the help.
