Title: Creosote
Post by: Misseem on June 27, 2020, 05:46:09 AM
First smoke on my Bradley.  When finished I found creosote on the puck tray (where the next puck would sit).  Is this normal? It seems this could prevent proper feeding of the puck.  So, how do I prevent this and best way to clean it.  Thanks.

its normal. slow burn will cause it every time or its been the case on my smoker. I just scrape it off  after it cools down and double check before my next cook. I had some pucks that were a little swollen at one time so I always slide them thru the burner now to make sure they don't hang up. it also lets me know that there is nothing holding them from sliding freely along the chute.. a small inconvience for insuring it works.

Welcome to the forum Misseem. I get a little build up too and when I'm finished my smoke, and the plate cools down, I just use a small scraper and then wire brush to clean it up, works good for me..
