Title: How to make a DIY pid controller
Post by: Ben257 on January 05, 2021, 08:22:17 PM
I am looking into building a pid controller for my Bradly original 4 rack smoker. This https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07LCYWCB1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_fabc_HBr9FbYH9K6GN is the unit that I am looking at. I have no idea how to wire it, but I have seen people that wire it into the side control box but can't find how they do it. Thanks

Hi Ben257;

Welcome to the forum. Do you have the digital or new original model. TedEbear is the member who has built the PID into the generator.

I saw by your other post that you received this for Christmas. If you modify the generator by building the PID inside it you will void your warranty. If you build a stand-alone PID your warranty will remain intact.

    " I have no idea how to wire it"
There wiring diagrams are included but if you don't have electrical/electronic experience it may be very frustrating and expensive. As Habs said build a standalone unit for your warranty's sake.
