Title: Bradley SG blown fuse - fast acting fuse or time delay?
Post by: RRL on March 16, 2021, 06:05:35 AM
Hey guys,

So my SG blew a fuse a little while back and need to do some testing to see where the issue is.

with that said im up in Canada and the availability on these specific fuses are lacking from what im seeing.

with that said can I run time deleyed 10amp 250v fuses or do i HAVE to run the fast blow fuses?     As of right now any of the local shops I can go to only carry time delayed ones that are typically used in microwave ovens.

Thanks!

According to the article in the link below; it is not advisable to swap them out- see the section "Slow Blow Vs Fast Blow Fuse". The Bradley that I have has a fast-acting fuse, but mine is 17 years old, so I don't know if they have changed the type of fuse inside the SG since then. These should be commonly found in any auto parts store, or online.

I figured it was a fast acting.

as for finding the fuseat any autoparts store is a bit tricky as I beleive most automotive stores stock fuses but for up to 150V  not the 250v requirement for the bradley or atlewast so ive found.    some i saw where even only 32v max.

I'm recalling events that occurred over 10 years ago, so how stores now handle inventory most likely has changed a lot since then (many have reduced their inventory). I found mine at Auto Zone, when Walmart didn't have them. These days you don't have to go to the store, you can check online to see what fuses any auto store, or retail store carries; which is a great convenience I didn't have back in the day. :)

Yeah ive been looking online and go figure its not one I can find easily.  too many darn options to carry and odds are its an uncommon fuse.

I could go through amazon but ideally trying to avoid china knocks offs

ill have to keep an eye out and dig a little more!  thanks for the help!
