I'm a newby. any tips on smoking ground venison to put in chili or spagetti.

Would be careful doing it from raw, my take would be to cook the venison first and then cool smoke to give it the smokiness.
Wild meat needs to be processed very carefully to be safe to eat,
Just dont want you to make yourself or loved ones sick,
