Title: Outdoor boxes for DBS, anyone built one?
Post by: weekendsmoker on February 19, 2008, 04:14:41 PM
Hi, I'm debating on building a box/shroud with a vent in the top so I can mount my DBS to my fence beside the BBQ in the back yard.  I'm still a little nervous going to bed and leaving the DBS running all night in the garage.  I leave the door open about 5" but it still makes me wonder about the fire potential.

Has anyone developed an outdoor storage container that can still be smoked through?  I was thinking like an outhouse type thing, it woudl be protected from the rain/snow, and I could still use it in the rain/snow.  My only drawback that I can see could be mice but I can take care of them, I'll smoe em.

Thanks,

Jason.

I haven't done it yet, but I'll be installing a vent in the roof of the Vertical Tool Storage Cabinet that I use to house my smoker.  The cabinet is maybe 8" wider than the smoker with the generator attached, about 7' tall overall, and sticks out from the house maybe 2 feet.
