Title: First Smoke Advice - Ribs - Smoke currently underway.
Post by: BigCruiseMan on August 16, 2008, 10:48:13 AM
I am very excited to have my first smoke underway on my BOS!  :D :D

Thanks to the great advice on this forum, I have started what looks like a great ribs - 3 slabs.

I had the ribs marinate overnight with a great rub recipe.  I just did a apple juice sprintz after about 1.5 hours, and they look great.

My questions are:
How long to cook?  (I will be doing a toothpick test to confirm.)
How long to FTC?
Would you suggest another spintz before they are done, or just at the end?

Thanks for the advice in advance.

BCM,

Here is a link to a post that Iceman did on ribs.  http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=4290.0   I think it hits most of the questions that you had until the rib experts pop in.

Welcome & enjoy your ribs!

Deb

Thanks.  This was the article I used to get started.  I was unsure if the 6 hrs included FTC or not.

This post shows how I did them: http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=7500.0

Except I left them in the oven longer - this post has my best batch thus far: http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=7592.0

Thanks very much.  I am looking to do this in the smoker for the duration.  I will post results.
