First Smoke on BDS
« on: September 12, 2009, 05:16:20 PM »
Today I had my first smoke on the new BDS. I smoked Root Beer Baked Beans, Chipotle Chicken wings and thighs. Will have them for supper tonight, but couldn't resist a sample, yum good. Heres a pic.

Looks good to me.  How/what did you do for the beans?

Thanks for the nice comments about the beans, you can find the recipe here. Everyone loves them. I kick up the Root Beer extract to 1/2 teaspoon and use a big 48 oz can of pork and beans.

http://www.watkinsonline.com/battersby/

After you click on that click on recipes on the left then type Root Beer Baked Beans in the search box. You can get a printer friendly version.

Have fun.

I stuffed my face at dinner and now having to have an Underberg (herbal alcoholoc digistive) to feel better. Even with that I would go for a piece of your chicken and some of them beans.

Here is the link for the Root Beer Extract

http://www.watkinsonline.com/productDetail.cfm?category=9&subcat=17&detail=306&product=21600&ECredit=375899

This is for Canada.  There are buttons at the top of the page for both the US and Canada shopping, just click on the country you live in. You can purchase whatever you want and the product will go right to your address. Let me know if you have any problem shopping, I'll check back here soon.

Bisquettes, I used apple and hickory, for 3 hours, with the oven on too.
