Brine was just a simple salt, sugar and pepper mix.  Sauce is one stick butter, couple hands of brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, tomato sauce and 12 oz. beer all brought to a simmer.

Hal's from Kentucky too! :D :D  Hal, huge poundage of pigs went down at the BBQ fest in Paducah in September.  Don't think I recall the scent of mesquite wafting through the air.  I DO recall the hint of hickory though. ;)
