Just noticed on the main site the Stainless Steel smoker is discontinued.

Why?  Was noone willing to pay the extra $ as compared to the standard models?

Even though Bradley has discontinued production and sales of the SS Bradley they will continue to service and maintain warranties on the units that have been purchased. This is per a conversation with Brian. There was a notice of this on page one of the newsletter.

It's just that I was thinking about getting one...I better see if anyone has any in my neck of the woods before they are all gone.

So this newsletter is something that you have to be added to the mailing list?

I'm curious as to the reason behind why it was discontinued.  Was it that not enough people were buying it because of the price difference over the OBS?  I live near the ocean and I am a bit worried how the salt air will take its toll on a regular OBS or DBS exterior.  Yes I would get a cover for it or possibly even try to keep it sheltered or indoors like some do.  For those that have the regular ones...how do they hold up to the elements?

There are still SS Smokers for sale. I see them everyday.

If someone wants one: Amazon still has them and also:

I see a place here out west in Canada that has some as well.  I'm trying my best to wait until I can honestly afford one without putting it on the CC but I wonder if the SS one would be my best choice and if it is, then I need to be quick and grab one before they are all gone.  I guess that's why I am wondering why it was discontinued.  I am assuming it's because they weren't selling enough of them as I'm sure they work perfectly.

If I were a betting man and I am, my bet would be that it has to do with the lack of sales.

Same smoker, just different shell.

Would be nice to have the money to buy one and just don't open it for about 10 years, of course by then we will be probably

Q'ing with some sorta yet to be invented power source. Ordered by Obama!

I have the SS and it is too bad they are being discontinued. IMHO I guess they do add a small amount of protection from the elements, but the metal quality is not that high so the protection factor is minimal.

I suspect the SS model was primarily made to give people another choice other than black and with the costs being higher they simply do not sell enough to justify continued production. Personally I like mine. I never have cared for black colored products, not even cars.
