Any thoughts/suggestions most welcome

Much debated issue here, many posts with same question and many more experienced replies than I.

I decided to get the original and then an Auber PID.

The Auber PID has much better temp control that the digital and they have a dual probe model to control cabinet temp and monitor internal meat temp.  It can also be programmed with six "steps" recipies that call for different temps. The dual probe model is out of stock until late March/April and currently not listed on the site.  If you want six racks I think digital is the only option.

All-in-one solution, get the digital.   Want more control and options Original with PID.

Have fun and welcome to forum, lots of great people here.

If you got it, smoke it.

I would say purchase the OBS and an Auber PID but that's completely up to you and your finances. I have a digital and have used it for 4-5 years without the need of a PID. I just happened to get a good deal on a used one so I bought it. There are as many options to which one you want or need to purchase.
