So I am going to get up Early to take advantage of forecast record low temps tomorrow morning to smoke some cheese.

The problem is waking up to start the SG and then gettting up again 30 minutes later to put in the cheese.

The solution:

I hooked the SG up to one of my z-wave relay switches, and then set my home automation software to turn it on 30 minutes before I get up..

I didn't have to buy anything extra, that is the switch from my Christmas lights...

I use the same type of switch to shut off my dehydrator.

Worked like a charm.

It's 40F out and the smoker is sitting at 55F with the door slightly open.
