I've decided to convert my smoke house to electric heat instead of propane since electric is so much easier to control the temps. I don't expect my temps will ever get above 180 inside and i'll be running 110 vac. I'll also be adding a Bradley Smoke Generator to do the smoking part so the element will only be running to cure the meat/salmon. A PID is in the plans to control the element but I need to find an element first. My smoker is open on the bottom and sits on 4 pavers spaced about 2-3 inches apart in my back yard so it will need to sit on something as well.

With the propane burner I have found that it is much harder to maintain a low temp while trying to use the burner to burn my wood for smoking, this is why I am switching to electric.

Thats why i went to pellet fired on mine. Easy to control and does not get above 180*.....Now i gotta figure out what to do with 75 gallons of LPG  ;D

At the smoke setting on the controller. Stayed 150 to 156* constant on this setting.
