mac mac mac mac mac.
A little more expensive up front but worth it.  Comes with everything you need and than some - right outta the box. That includes great software and a great OS.  Plus you don't have to deal with Ram robbing anti virus programs.  I've had mine for 3 years.  I take to work everyday - I'm in the graphics biz - and home every night for entertainment  - web, email, movies etc.  It's got a lot of miles on it and just won't quit.  Let's see, 1200$ over 3 years = about 30$ a month.  No maintenance, no viruses, solid reliability and on and on and on.  Do yourself a favor and make the switch.
Cheers

I got a HP dv5 with intel core2duo and have had no problems. They all have there good and bad points it will depend on what you want to use it for and the lay out and programs that you want that will make a difference. I got mine just for basic use nothen fancy and it is probably more computer than I need.
