I know this is a loaded questions and has many variables depending upon what you are smoking, but I'm wanting to branch out beyond what I normally use (apple and hickory) and I want to see what others would pick from these choices.  Thanks for your picks and pointing me in a new direction.

No hickory?  i had to vote for my next favorite.    I will say the Jim Beam ones that CRG sent me were pretty darn good to, but you didn't list them.   :(

Marketing answer -- it depends.

Curious, why did you exclude maple and hickory ?
I like animals, they taste good!

I didn't realize I could put more than 5 choices on the poll, but I went back and saw I could revise it, so I added maple and Jim Beam as I like those options as well.  I use hickory all the time, so I wanted to see what everyone would pick if I didn't put hickory or apple in the list.

Good thinking just wish you would have pointed that out in the first part of the thread..

Anyway, I still stay with pecan, we have 40 or sor on the farm and wood to burn/smoke with is not a problem so we use it a lot.

I'm with TMB. I like pecan (and Hickory and apple and oak)
