Cold Smoke

I'll will be anxiously awaiting your results. I'm stuck using plain old chicken (hen eggs) and doubt I'll ever smoke anything like a quail egg. If I ever jump the pond perhaps I'll be able to one day try one of those delicacies- with a pint of something or other.

Cold Smoke,

You don't have to necessarily jump the pond to find quail eggs. They're pretty popular in Mexican markets. Then again, depending on where in Canada you are, England may be closer.[:D]

Ya think next time I check into a hotel & they ask "Smoking or Non?" they would mind?

Mmmmmmm.....Beer festival! [:p][^]

I appreciate the offer but I'm not sure I'd make it to the bed after sampling 150 BARRELS- [:D] I might have to drag along my ACME handy-dandy collapsible hammock and a pocketful of Tylenol. You must have had to pay someone handsomely to land that kind of prestigious position- I'd hate to be the guy in charge of the porta-potty at this event. [;)]

I think you missed the point, you do not have to drink all 150 barrels, but you have to check that they are all fit for human consumption during the whole of the festival -- this takes about 3 days, give or take a week or so.

Cold Smoke

Johnny, to ensure the quality/integrity of each barrel, I would expect that a diligent quality control officer would need to take a few good swigs of each barrel to give each a fair try- let's say a pint- before giving each barrel his official seal of approval. [;)] Now even if the festival lasted 3 entire days that would mean sampling 50 barrels a day~~ [:0] 50 barrels times one pint per barrel- that works out to about enough ale to fill a child's kiddie pool. [^][^]

Sign me up! I'm up for a good challenge every now and then. I guess I'll book a few days at the Betty Ford clinic upon my return.

And I thought Canucks liked beer!

Although, when you break it down, that's only 4 pints per hour for 12 hours straight![:D]

Before I join the excursion, could someone relay me the price of a good black-market kidney?[:D]

You guys is still missin the point, all 150 barrels have to be checked at regular intervals like every 2 or 3 hours just to make sure that they have not gone bad in the meantime. Then you start on the cider --- dynamite!!!!!!!!
