There is no bad cut of meat, just some better than others. What ever is cheaper. Some just may require more imagination than others. Pulled pork, pork butt/pork shoulder.

and for the brisket ?

La Quinta

All I can say about brisket...is go to a butcher...now others may disagree...(no problem) but the brisket we get out here from Costco/Walmart/grocery is kinda inferior...may be different where you live...I find when you pay for the cut you get a better product...and will get a better flavor and tenderness...but...others will chime in... :)

As La Quinta stated ask your butcher about the brisket; often certain cuts are not displayed. Here in the states most of our beef is graded, and you don't want to purchase anything lower then choice.

As for pulled pork, in Canada also try looking or asking for blade roast or shoulder blade. They are also the equivalent what we call pork butts.
