Guys, I'm looking at buying a dual probe PID and unsure which one will leave me open for upgrades in the future.

The standard one is on backorder until June 23rd but there is an 1800 watt version as well.

Will I have any problems upgrading my OBS to 2 heating elements (or a 900 watt finned element) later on with the standard dual probe PID or do I need this fancy one?

No problem...standard will work with dual or 900w finned element mods
Natural Gas 4 burner stainless RED with auto-clean
2 TBEs(1 natural gas & 1 LP gas)
OBS(Auberins dual probe PID, 900w finned element & convection fan mods)
2011 Memphis Select Pellet Smoker
BBQ Grillware vertical smoker(oven thermostat installed & converted to natural gas)

Habanero Smoker

I don't know what the price difference is, but the 1800 watt may give you more options if you want to control other heating devices that may be rated over the 1400 watts.

Just ordered one from auber pid a dual. It says for 1800 buy the heavier cord not a different PID. Also says you can also use a computer cord in exchange for it.
