I like to use Hickory or Pecan but have used Apple and Maple before with great results. I do like to use mesquite but in small doses due to it has a very strong taste :)
Natural Gas 4 burner stainless RED with auto-clean
2 TBEs(1 natural gas & 1 LP gas)
OBS(Auberins dual probe PID, 900w finned element & convection fan mods)

I have become a Pecan fan, but since I have 10 boxes of Crown Royal

I may have to switch for a while.

Guess I'll put my two cents in.  ;D. Ive used apple, pecan, and the messy wood (mesquite). All have come out great.

I dig the apple. Cherry is a bit to over powering. It really all depends on personal taste.
I'm not the smartest peanut in the turd!

Hickory and apple seem to be the two I use for most everything. When I started, I bought one box of everything and I soon had a bunch of remnants... one or two of this and that, so the last time I had a long smoke, I just grabbed all the leftovers and loaded up the SG. Great pulled pork, but I have no idea what wood combination I used. Smoked meat is just good....period ;D
